What is the PTO?

PTO is a nonprofit group of parents, teachers and school administrators dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Moyock Elementary School. Our objectives encourage the interaction between family and school, support school operations and enhance school spirit.

If I join the PTO, do I have to volunteer?

No. While we depend on volunteers to run our programs and we greatly appreciate their time, we understand that not all families have this flexibility. We appreciate all our volunteers and our community.

Why should both parents join the PTO?

We encourage both moms,  dads, grandparents, and guardians  to join the PTO and we encourage all to attend our meetings and volunteer for activities.

How many PTOs can I join and do I have to pay dues to each one?

You may join as many PTOs as you like (e.g. preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and district wide PTOs). You have to pay full dues to each organization you join that requires dues.

I do not like fundraisers but I would like to support the PTO. What can I do?

You may make a tax-deductible contribution to the PTO anytime during the year. Since the PTO is a 501(c)3 organization you may also request a matching donation from your employer.

What is the best way to receive information from the PTO and to find out what is happening?

Aside from attending PTO meetings, the best way to receive PTO information is to follow our Moyock Elementary School PTO Facebook page or visit us here at our MES PTO Website.

How do I sign up to volunteer in my child's classroom?

There are opportunities to volunteer in your child's classroom outside of the PTO and volunteer opportunities will vary by classroom. Some teachers will post volunteer sheets through classdojo, some will post sheets at Parent Teacher Conferences, some teachers will send notes home, etc. Please contact your classroom teacher if you have questions.

Where can I find the fall schedule?

Fall Schedules for MES will be posted on the school website at the end of summer break for the next school year. Follow the link below and it will direct you to the schools webpage.

What if I have an idea for a new PTO activity or program?

Please contact any of the PTO officers. We welcome and encourage new ideas! We are a community of volunteers and any help with continue to make the PTO a success for our staff and students
